Bitcoin Basics

I know we talked about Blockchain, but the question is always asked about why bitcoin prices fluctuate so much.  I found this link helpful to understanding digital currency basics at Coinbase.  You can also ask a question there, if these links are not helpful.

  1. I found this website to be very informative about the basics of cryptocurrencies and about some differences between the various platforms. Although I had some previous knowledge about Bitcoin, I didn’t know much about Litecoin and Ethereum. I find the concept of Blockchains to be very interesting, because there are records of every bitcoin transaction ever made, yet they aren’t linked to the real identities of the participants. I wonder if companies are going to incorporate the idea of a blockchain ledger into their accounting function in order to improve financial reporting accuracy and assurance. If you are interested, I found an article about a decrease in Bitcoins price because Twitter outlawed advertising from cryptocurrencies on their platform. I think Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies are going to recover even though there trading prices have been declining since the beginning of the year. Cryptocurrencies in general seem to be highly volatile and I think that once the general population becomes more familiar with what cryptocurrencies are, it will become less volatile.

    Here is the article:
